He was predeceased by: his wife Phyllis Peterson; his parents, Emil Bahls and Esther Bahls (Schoepke); and his brother Howard Bahls (Darlene). He is survived by: his children, Janice Guevara of Sac City, Richard Bahls (Debra) of Rockwell City and Brenda Hoit (David) of Grimes; and his granddaughters, Jennifer White, Amy Rastetter (Justin), Becky Graeve (Josh), Laurie Hinrichs (Josh) and Melanie Fedders (Lyle). He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
