He was predeceased by: his parents, Keevan Hammen and Marcella Hammen (Gesy); and his siblings, Duane, Francis Hammen and Theresa Louise Hammen.

He is survived by: his wife Donna Hammen of Rockwell City; his children, Troy Hammen (Jessica) of Manson, Tony Hammen (Amy) of Rockwell City, Wendy Slaughter (Brandon) of Cherokee and Wade Hammen of Rockwell City; his grandchildren, Tanner, Jacey, Keaton, Heidi, Holly, Payton, Teagan, Hunter and Georgia; his siblings, Rose Kutz (Paul), Joan Kidney (Bob), Annie Errington (Gary), Ron Hammen (Dianne), Randy Hammen (Kathy) and Marty Hammen (Barb); and his sister-in-law Kitty Hammen.

Memorials will be donated to the local foodbank.
