He was predeceased by: his former wife Judy Klatt; his parents, Arthur Hindt and Emma Hindt (Schemmel); his great grandchildren, Joseph and Austyn; and his siblings, Dorothy Widholm, Lilian Harms, Betty Kruger, LeRoy, Edward, Charles, Marion and Gale.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Hindt of Rockwell City; his children, Jodie Hatlestad of Fort Dodge, Jana Blunt (Shaun) of Rockwell City and Jim Hindt (Melissa) of Webster City; his stepsons, Scott Ballstadt (Sonja) of Windsor, CO and Travis Ballstadt (Rebecca Laster) of Seattle, WA; his sister Leona Heidebrink of Bigelow, MN; and his sister-in-law Shirley Hindt of Sheldon. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Palmer & Swank Funeral Home (528 Main St, Rockwell City, IA 50579). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (3010 270th St, Rockwell City, IA 50579).
