She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Alwes and Elta Alwes (Sommerfeld); her siblings, Erma Davis (Edwin), Elvin Alwes (Celia), Elmore Alwes (Mary) and Maxine; her brothers-in-law, Elbert Gallentine, Jim Howard and Roger Brand; her parents-in-law, Ora and Elwood Brand; and her husband Richard E. Brand.
She is survived by: her daughters, Charlotte Johnson (Jack) of Schleswig and Vicki Kail (Stephen) of Littleton, CO; her grandchildren, Jim Johnson (Sherry), Randall Johnson (Jenny), Brian Johnson (Rebecca), Grant Kail (Jamie) and Lisa Witt (Wes); her great grandchildren, Matt Johnson (Maureen), Jared Johnson, Lilia Johnson, Cole Johnson, Braeden Johnson, Lauren Johnson, Lucas Kail and Isaac Witt; her stepgrandchildren, Robert Jepsen, Marisa Jepsen and Camille Jepsen; her sister Elgene Howard of Rockwell City; and her sister-in-law Donna Brand of Fort Dodge. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
