Danny L. Kraft Obituary

Grand Junction – Danny L. Kraft 62, formerly of Rockwell City, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home, Fort Dodge, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Noon Monday, July 3, 2023 at the Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City. Graveside Services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 3, at the Pilot Mound Cemetery, near Pilot Mound with Rev. Denise Berns officiating. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Kandie of Grand Junction; daughters, Jennifer Hicks (P.D. Johnson) of Rockwell City and Melissa "Mo" Kraft of Rockwell City; grandchildren, Brianna (Nick Thielen) and Gracie (Brody Goodman); great-grandchildren, Addie and Coleson; stepdaughter Kelsey Stringer of Coon Rapids; step grandchildren, Jamie, Kaden, Jonah, Tommy and Braylee; sisters, Dianna Shivers of Rockwell City, Kathy (Dave) Weiss of Rockwell City; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amber Marie Sorenson; grandchildren, Riley, Autumn, and Brayden Sorenson; his parents, Vernon and Dorothy (Main) Kraft; and sister Cindy Blair.

Danny Lyle Kraft was born June 2, 1961 at Fort Dodge. He grew up in Rockwell City and graduated from Rockwell City High School, with the Class of 1979. Dan was united in marriage to Jean Roese and three daughters were born to this union. He later was united in marriage to Kandie Stout. Dan worked at Weiss Plumbing and Heating for many years and in 2007, he worked for Wright Outdoor Solutions of Des Moines. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, camping, hunting, fishing and taking care of his family.
