He is survived by: his parents, Larry Spaans and Bonnie Spaans (Doering); his wife Stacy Spaans; his stepchildren, Makinsy Brantsen and Jordan Brantsen; his siblings, Brenda Erickson (Marty), Laurie Van Schouwen (Dan) and Barry Spaans (Kristen); his sisters-in-law, Rachel Spaans and Denise Boer (Steve); his mother-in-law Hermina Borman; and his grandmother Hermina Van Veldhuizen. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
