It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Simon Groeneweg (Rock Valley, Iowa), who passed away on August 5, 2019, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Simon Groeneweg to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bastiaan Groeneweg and Lyda Groeneweg (Vanden Bosch); his grandson Scott Wolfswinkel; and his siblings, Anna Van Ginkel (Henry), Rena DeVries (Dick), Lydia Terpstra (Clarence), Leonard (Catherine), Paul, John (Marian), Walter and Albert Groeneweg (Joanna).
He is survived by: his wife Judy; his children, Loren Groeneweg (Ruth) of Hudson, Helaine Wolfswinkel (Jim) of Des Moines, Darla (Norm), Garretson, Sandra, Des Moines and William "Bill" Groeneweg (Pam) of Inwood, Iowa; his sister Pat Bauman (John) of Rock Valley; and his siblings-in-law, Gerrit Vande Hoef of Sioux Center, Iowa, Alta Groeneweg of Rock Valley and Gertrude Den Boer of Rock Valley. He is also survived by 15 grandsons and 1 granddaughter; 25 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to the Netherlands Reformed Christian School.
