With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ronald De Weerd of Rock Valley, Iowa, born in Orange City, Iowa, who passed away on November 12, 2020 at the age of 69. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Weerd and Anna De Weerd (Draayer); his daughter Sherri; and his father-in-law Cornie Vander Molen. He is survived by: his wife Joy Vander Molen; his children, Brian De Weerd of Rock Valley, Jeff and Abby De Weerd of Rock Valley; his grandchildren, McKenna, Kylan, Brynn and Dawson; his children, Lisa and Justin Gaiser of Johnston; his grandchildren, Drew, Hailey, Brayden, Hunter and Bryce; his children, Dan and Samantha De Weerd of Hull; his grandsons, Oliver and Simon; his children, Jon and Kelsey De Weerd of Burbank; his grandchildren, Raven and Ava; his siblings, Delores (Lawrence Van Grootheest), Leanne De Weerd of Waterford, Glen De Weerd (Barb Argo) of Rock Valley and Mark (Sherry De Weerd); his mother-in-law Edith Vander Molen; his brother-in-law Tim (Kathy Vander Molen) of Montana; and also, Connie, John De Vries, Shirley, Kent Flikkema, Donna, Bob Stump, Lori and Lonnie Meyer. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The wearing of masks is mandatory at the visitation and highly recommended at the memorial service, with social distancing at all times.
Ronald's family prefers, in lieu of flowers and gifts, that you make a donation to a local Christian School in his memory.
