He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Gayer and Alvina Gayer; his siblings, Fritz Gayer (Verna), Martha Dierks (Herman), Emma Moeller (Charley), Minnie Bauder (Roy), Louise Heuer (Edwin), Esther Bauder (Art) and Ann Wasser (Hayes); and his parents-in-law, Anton Gerlach, Jerry Heiden, Walt Intorf, Millie Bartels (Al), Marge Molzen (Glenn) and Jan Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Lura Thompson; his daughters, Kay Hulst (Mark), Karen Watterson (Jerry) and Jayne Termaat (Bill); his grandchildren, Seth Hulst (Jess), Matthew Hulst (Tonia), Joshua Hulst (Alex), Amy Hulst, Aaron Watterson (Alisha), Adam Watterson (Shelly), Andrew Watterson (Tausha), Barry Termaat (Jill), Dana Isder (Nate) and Rob Termaat (Hosanna); his sisters, Dorothy Jones (Ben) and Marcia Intorf; and his brother-in-law Lyle Thompson.
Memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church, Compassion Child Care, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, or Samaritan's Purse.
