It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nancy Kooima of Rock Valley, Iowa, born in Steen, Minnesota, who passed away on June 26, 2021, at the age of 103, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Roekel and Mary Van Roekel (Wielenga); her former husband Andrew Vander Schaaf; her husband Gerrit Kooima; her daughter Minerva Ter Wee; her daughter-in-law Kris Kooima; her grandchildren, Joni Saunders and Dan Kooima; her grandsons-in-law, Jim Schafer, Evan "Chic" Van Ginkel and Don Saunders; her great great grandchild Jesse Saunders; and her siblings, Abe Van Roekel (Josie), Louie Van Roekel (Betty), Marion Van Roekel (Jean), Wilbur Van Roekel and Sadie Hoekstra (Harry).
She is survived by: her children, Bob Kooima (Kit) of Rock Valley, Jim Kooima (Margene) of Rock Valley, Gawin Kooima (Wanda) of Sioux Center, Brian Kooima of Rock Valley and Faye Vande Stouwe (Clarence) of Apple Valley, California; and her son-in-law Henry Ter Wee (Irene) of Larchwood, Iowa. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; 37 great-great-grandchildren.
