With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Van Sloten of Rock Valley, Iowa, who passed away on March 24, 2021. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerrit Sloten and Gertrude Van Sloten (Pollema); his parents-in-law, D. H. Bergsma and Josina Bergsma Van Veldhuizen; his brother Gary Van Sloten; and his brother-in-law Ed Van Veldhuizen.
He is survived by: his wife Coreen Bergsma; his children, Doug, Sheryl Larsen (Jerry), Douglas Van Sloten (Kendra), Decorah of Iowa, Susan Van Sloten, Rock Valley and Dave Van Sloten (Carolyn); his grandchildren, Sharese Van Sloten, Bethany Noble (Dustin), Brett Van Sloten (Samantha), Hannah Van Sloten, Kevin Larsen (Hillary), Jeff Larsen (Melissa) and Steven Larsen (Kelsey); his great grandchildren, Brenton, Josina, Baby Noble, Oliver Van Sloten and Kaylee Larsen; his siblings, Norm Van Sloten (Bettie) and Winifred Van Veldhuizen; his siblings-in-law, Barb Van Sloten, Jim and Marge Bergsma; and his friend John. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the wearing of a mask is strongly encouraged.
