He was predeceased by : his parents, Luke Boer and Hilda Den Boer (De Haan); and his first wife, Margaret Mulder, and his second wife, Minnie Kooiman. He is survived by : his children, Lloyd (Audrey Den Boer), Cheryl (Peter Mahaffy), Kelvin (Nancy Den Boer) and Kevin (Cheryl Den Boer); and his sister-in-law Jo Mulder of Luverne, Minnesota.. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren.
