He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Marinus Boon and Hendrika Boon (Van Bemmel); his spouse Beverly Sue Vugetveen; his sons, Brad (Sonja Boon) and James "Jim" (Sharla Boon); his grandchildren, Scott Boon (Stacy) of Montana, Taya Boon of Sioux Falls, Shantel Mozer (Jarod) of Sioux City, Sheri Henrichs (Brody) of Inwood, Iowa, Cambrie Henrichs and Huxley Henrichs of Inwood; his sisters, Hilda Vink of Doon and Joan (Virg Horstman); and his sister-in-law Eileen Boon of Hull.

Memorials may be given to Rock Valley Christian School.John.
