He was predeceased by: his parents, John Rus and Katie Rus (Zomer); his wife Frances Reva Maassen; his great grandchild Jayda Fay Van Voorst; and his siblings, Herman, Elmer, Leon and Nellie Fluit.
He is survived by: his children, Marion J. Rus (Becky) of Rock Valley, Darwin Rus (Helen) of Rock Valley, Shirley Van Voorst of Rock Valley and Tami Van Beek (Jim) of Inwood; his siblings, Lorn Rus (Marilyn) of Rock Valley, Cora Starr of Arlington, Hermina Van Veldhuizen of Rock Valley and Jennie Van Bemden of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and his sisters-in-law, Judy Rus of Grand Rapids and Audrey Rus of Ireton, Iowa.. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren; 83 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Netherlands Reformed Christian School.
