He was predeceased by : his parents, Peter Pollema and Gertrude Pollema (Te Slaa) of Hull, Iowa.; his brother Henry Pollema; and his brothers-in-law, James Vander Sluis and Lee Hanenburg.

He is survived by : his siblings, Freida Vander Sluis, Helen De Zeeuw (Lyle) of Rock Valley and Willis Pollema (Evelyn) of Bellflower, California; his sister-in-law Harriet Hanenburg of Edgerton, Minnesota; and his nieces and nephews, Dorinda Sorvig (Scott), Darla Olson, Sheila Brooks (Dan), Steven Pollema (Julia), Janelle Vierick (Chris), Joel Pollema (Connie), Brian Pollema (Julie), Donna Schwieger (Jeff), Amy Savage (Jeff), Stan De Zeeuw (Abby), Pierce De Zeeuw and Paige Smit (Brad).

A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 22nd 2024 at 10:30 AM at the First Reformed Church of Rock Valley (1501 16th St, Rock Valley, IA 51247).
