He was predeceased by: his parents, Dérk Burgers and Celia Burgers (Heijnekamp); his wife Wilma Burgers; his son Derrel Burgers; his grandson Michael Lottman; and his siblings, Jacob "Jake" Burgers, Dick Burgers, Neeltje Willemsen, Aaltje Van Holland, Teunisje "Tilly" Van Holland and Willemina De Man (Minnie).
He is survived by: his children, Gloria Burgers of Rock Valley, Glenda Jones of Sioux Falls and Leon Burgers (Lora) of Alvord; his grandchildren, Sara Roskup (Jason), Tawny Jones and Tara Jones; his great grandchildren, Jada and Alyse Roskup; and his sisters-in-law, Beverly Dykstra of Rock Valley and Josie Van De Stroet of Visalia, California..
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Porter Funeral Home - Rock Valley (1704 15th St, Rock Valley, IA 51247). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Trinity Christian Reformed Church (2020 8th St SE, Rock Valley, IA 51247).
Memorials may be given to Justice For All of Rock Valley.
