He was predeceased by: his father Peter Haak; his grandparents, Rensie, Ann Haak, Edd and Mary Van Beek; his mother-in-law Jessie Voetberg; his brothers-in-law, Jim Urwin, Harv Voetberg and Natalee Henke; and his nephew-in-law Michael Voetberg.
He is survived by: his mother Violet Haak (Van Beek); his sons, Derrick and Jason; his wife Marva; his son Coby Haak (Faber); his grandsons, Lincoln and Wyatt; his son Lynn Haak (Moody); his grandchildren, Rensie and Abe; his daughter Megan (Steve Coulander); his grandchildren, Lane, Saydee, Willa and Livvy; his siblings, Marlene (Ron Abbas), Larry (Yvonne Haak), Lyle (Joan Vande Kamp) and Malia (Dale Nibbelink); and his siblings-in-law, Delores Voetberg of Rock Valley, Marlo, June Voetberg of Marcus, Bryan and Donna Voetberg of Magnolia, Minnesota. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family prefers memorials which they will use for a cause close to Duane's heart.
