She was predeceased by: her parents, Neal Kroon and Mina Kroon; her husband Bud Hocking; and her siblings-in-law, Kenneth Hocking and Darlene Hocking.

She is survived by: her children, Sandra Laurie of Washington, DC and Clay Hocking (Shaun) of Hugo, MN; her grandchildren, Ian Laurie (Kelly) of Arlington, VA, Tyler Laurie (Beth) of Glen Mills, PA and Hendrene Berg of Menonmonie, WI; and her great grandchildren, Taylor, Owen, Jaxon, Jakob, Theo, Sloane and Penelope Ruth (Poppy).

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Rock Rapids Public Library.
