He is survived by: his former wife Betty Riebeling; his wife Betty Gruis of Rock Rapids; his children, Pam Johnson (Lyndon) of Montrose, SD, Joel Gruis (Nicole) of Colton, SD and Tim Gruis (Liz) of Hoisington, KS; his sister Pat Huisman of Rock Rapids, IA; and his brothers-in-law, Glen Hoekstra of Sioux Falls, SD and Doug Bauer of Sioux Falls, SD. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other extended family.
