She was predeceased by: her parents, John DeHaan and Barbara DeHaan (Gorzeman); her husband Verlyn Vermeer; and her brother-in-law Milton King Deets. She is survived by: her son Barry Guy Vermeer (Ann) of Minneapolis; her grandchildren, Jennifer Gregor (Clark) and John Vermeer (Eleni) of New York City; her sister Barbara Deets of Naples; and her niece Kristin Deets (Michael).
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Animal Humane Society or Dakota Dachshund Rescue (7505 East Mystic Drive, Sioux Falls, South Dakota 57110).
