He was predeceased by: his parents, Talmadge Black and LaVon Black (Brownell); and his sister Patricia Lamberson. He is survived by: his wife Clara Richter; his children, Heather Heimensen (Corey) of Rock Rapids, IA, Aaron Black (Cindy), Gretchen Engelmeyer (Ryan) of Lee's Summit, MO and Brittany Houwen of Tiffin, IA; his grandchildren, Zed (Ashley), Hayden, Grace Heimensen, Zachariah, Bauer Black, Miles, Easton Engelmeyer, Reis, Ty and Shae Houwen; and his siblings, Tamra Gullickson (Dennis), Kathleen Bame (Larry), Mary Niesen (Steve), Michelle Davis (Michael), Jon Black (Lori) and Jay Black (Lori). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the O'Brien County Fair Board for their show arena.
