She was predeceased by: her parents, William Cook and Martha Cook (Gunderson); her husband Louie Bontje; her daughter Lori Jean; her great grandchildren, Gabriel Lowe-Farmer and Lydia Lupkes; and her sisters, Elizabeth Barret, Evie Struwe and Jo Holmblad.
She is survived by: her children, Pam Hawf (John) of Lester, IA, Diana Bigge (Dave) of Sioux Falls, SD, Patti Pottebaum (Doug) of Inwood, IA, Linda Herda (Doug) of Rock Rapids, IA, Sandi Lupkes (Jim) of Rock Rapids, IA and Craig Bontje (Becky) of Rock Rapids, IA; and her siblings-in-law, Betty Gacke of Larchwood, IA, Mary Ann Bjerke (Kermit) of Bemidji, MN, Shirley Vrooman of Sioux Falls, SD and Don Bontje of Janesville, WI. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren.
