With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Edna Jongerius of Rock Rapids, Iowa, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Edna left this world on October 31, 2024 at the age of 89, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Maggie Weerd (Buyert) and John Van Der Weerd; her husband Willis Jongerius; and her siblings, Jeanette Top and Henry VanDerWeerd.
She is survived by: her children, Patrice Unekis of Rock Rapids, Kama Jongerius (Steve DeYoung) of Holland and Tim Jongerius (Ruth) of Waukee, Iowa.; her grandchildren, Rachel Unekis Poches (Greg), Daniel Bechtel Unekis (Kari), Mark Unekis, Zoe Jongerius Zuidema, Hava Jongerius Zuidema, Matthew Jongerius and Kaylee Jongerius; and her siblings, Wilma DeRoo, Henrietta Timmer, Mae Tinklenberg, Gerald Jongerius (Judy), Helen VandeBroek and Glenda Brenneman (Arlin).
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the First Reformed Church (512 S Union St, Rock Rapids, IA 51246). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
