He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert "Red" Joseph and Rita Frances Stumpf (Thomann); his grandson Trevor Burrows; and his brother Michael Stumpf. He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane Stumpf of Riverside; his children, Jill Burrows (Jeffrey) of North Liberty, Chad Stumpf (April) of Riverside and Jody Fisher (Eric) of North Liberty; his grandchildren, Kyla Burrows, Tate Stumpf, Quinn Stumpf, Madilyn Stumpf, Riley Fisher, Clara Fisher and Griffin Fisher; and his siblings, Randy Stumpf (Betty) of Kalona, Nancy Flynn (Jim) of Washington, Beverly Miller (Bob) of Riverside, Nick Stumpf (Sue) of Ainsworth, Tim Stumpf (Kris) of Lone Tree, Laurie Sexton (Randy) of Riverside, Rod Stumpf of Kalona and Bonnie Stumpf of Hills.
