He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis C. Yeggy and Florence G. Yeggy (Wadle); his grandson Zachary; and his brothers, Eldon and Jim.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Robertson; his children, Larry Yeggy (Cheryl) of Riverside, Janet Lewis (Brian) of Oxford, Sharon Rohret (Steve) of Riverside, Carolyn Schnoebelen (Jerry) of Riverside and Dennis Yeggy (Kelly) of Chariton; his grandchildren, Michelle Richardson (Jeremy), Rachel Clark (Casey), Matthew Yeggy (Andrea), Jennifer Lewis, Samantha Boyd (Nathan), Emily Lewis, Timothy Rohret (Melanie), Thomas Rohret (Alana), Ryan Yeggy (Kayli) and Bret Yeggy; his great grandchildren, Livian, Wyatt, Emery Richardson, Violet Clark, Lane Yeggy, Brinley Boyd, Lauren Rohret, Kash and Klayton Yeggy; and his sisters, Juanita Bushman of Iowa City, Bernadette Lorack (Duane) of Lone Tree, Roberta Yeggy of Lone Tree and Linda Streb (Tom) of North Liberty.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Riverside First Responders or St. Mary's Church in memory of Merritt.
