He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Gerot and Edna Gerot (Hopping); his brother Ted Gerot; his sister-in-law Ina Gerot; and his niece Maryjane Gerot.
He is survived by: his wife Carla Havel of Riverside; his children, Duane Gerot (Jennie) of Ainsworth, Dan Gerot (Jill) of North Liberty and Dianne Riggan (Gregg) of Kalona; his grandchildren, Kelsey Barnes (Jeremy) of Cedar Rapids, Matthew Gerot of Cedar Rapids, Brittni Musicant (Seth) of Washington, Billy Riggan (Jill) of Washington, Breanna Murphy (Josh) of Kalona, Jessi Gerot of Glenwood Springs and Jake Gerot of Solon; and his great grandchildren, Savannah, Callie, Sadie Musicant, Harper, Zoey Barnes and Georgia Riggan.
