He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Earl Waldschmidt and Helen Waldschmidt (Wiese); his daughters, Diane Lowe (Al) of Riverside, Nancy Sojka (Greg) of Riverside, Cindy Becker (Don) of North Liberty, Linda Frank (Scott) of Riverside and Jean Redlinger (Tony) of Tiffin; his sisters, Marjorie Gase (Joe) of Cedar Rapids and Carolyn Shalla of Kalona; his sister-in-law Mary Waldschmidt of Lone Tree; his wife Shirley; his brother Cletus "Boots" Waldschmidt; and his brother-in-law Cliff Shalla. He was also cherished by 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Riverside 1st Responders or the American Heart Association.
