He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Sammons, Sr. and Edna Elsie Sammons (Messer); his daughter Barb Figgins; and his sisters, Ruth Horak, Gladys Havel, Viola Havel and Thelma Schadt.
He is survived by: his wife Clara Edna Lemley of Riverside; his children, Marvin Sammons (Mary Beth) of Riverside, Gary Sammons (Kaye) of Riverside, Janet Wieland (Charles) of Riverside and John Sammons (Becki) of Iowa City; and his son-in-law Jim Figgins of Riverside. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society in memory of Elmer.
