He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur P. and Anna K. Sweeting (Stebral); his wife Dorothy; his great grandchild Augustine Wyatt Koch; and his sister Inez Franck (Burley).
He is survived by: his children, Jerry Sweeting (Marge) of Riverside, Ron Sweeting (Kathleen Sadler) of Iowa City, Keith Sweeting (Penelope) of Riverside, Carol Kidwell (Kevin) of Solon, Connie Shalla (Doug) of Kalona, Judy Gerot (Rick) of Ainsworth and Arthur Sweeting (Shari) of Riverside; and his grandchildren, Jeremy Sweeting (Lora), Dan Sweeting (Ashley Keasling), Brent Sweeting, Betsy Sweeting, Brook Sweeting, Amanda Yeggy (Scott), Benjamin Sweeting (Shelly), Anthony Sweeting (Angie), Jennifer Schlabaugh (Jason), Heather Koch (Gregory), Matthew Kidwell (Courtney), Lindsey Meade (Travis), Kelsey Swancutt (Patrick), Heidi Miller (Luke), Nicholas Shalla (Jayna), Jason Shalla (Beth Morris), Stefaney Lawrence (Justin), Courtney Shalla, Ryan Gerot, Tyler Gerot (Nikki), Brittany Redlinger (Rob), Amy Vazquez (Henry), Tina Milder, Anna Schneider (Brent) and Haley Sweeting.
