With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Kathleen Margaret Schmitt of Rickardsville, Iowa, born in Holy Cross, Iowa, who passed away on August 13, 2022 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Sabin C. Cook and Lavena L. Duster Cook; her sister Carolyn Oberbroeckling; and her parents-in-law, Bev Cook, Robert Schmitt, Mary Ploessl and Paul Schmitt.
She is survived by: her husband Jim; her children, Sue Wilgenbusch (Dale) of Rickardsville, Randy Schmitt (Theresa) of Sussex, WI, John Schmitt (Tracy) of Asbury, Amy Moser (Ron) of Rickardsville and Angie Katrichis (Andy) of Rickardsville; her grandchildren, Matt (Keesha), Anna (Laith), Nick (Nicole), Megan, Cal, Allison, Wesley, Morgan, Kristina (Julian), Bella, Brady and Connor; her great grandchildren, Macy, Mia and Oliver; her siblings, Janet Schmitt (Richard), Shirley Coleman (Art), Ken Cook, Linda Markham (James), Dorothy Kane (Chuck), Don Cook (Cheryl), Steve Cook (Paula), Tina Burbach (Kurt) and Mary Reeg (Tom); and her parents-in-law, Leo Oberoeckling, Andrew Ploessl, Del Rose Schmitt and Kathleen Schmitt.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for LaSalle Catholic School, Hospice of Dubuque, and Stonehill Care Center.
