He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Henrietta M. Schmitt (Hufnagel) and Aloysius P. Schmitt; his stepmother Germaine (Schrobilgen); his siblings, Jim Schmitt and Pat Steger (Schmitt); his wife Kathy (Ruden); his children, Jenny Kettering (Dave), Sarah Sherman (Mark Gigous), Josh Schmitt (Jayna) and Callie Anglese (Ryan); and his grandchildren, Stephen (Paula), Hailey, Gabrielle, Ben, Hunter, Collin, Aleece, Casey, Leah, Boen, Hazel, Aubrey, Brecken and Dawson. He was also cherished by husband and his kids would say he was the best Dad.
In lieu of flowers, Dan has requested donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
