He was predeceased by: his parents, Mearl Mathias and Helen Mathias (Daughtery); his brothers, Marland, Dennis and Dwight Mathias; and his in-laws, Richard and Margaret Conger.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Sue Conger; his siblings, Marlene Mathias (Jeffrey Moore), Cynthia Sylvester (Phillip), Phillip Mathias (Marcia) and Roger Mathias; and his sister-in-law Connie Mathias of Texas.
