He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Kleckner and Grace Kleckner (Lenth); his daughter Julie; and his brother Dean. He is survived by: his wife Irene Kleckner of Osage, IA; his sons, Curt Kleckner of Osage, IA and Kent Kleckner (Jill) of Decorah, IA; his grandchildren, Lydia Kleckner, Josie Kleckner, Eliot Kleckner, Jesse Baird, Joshua Baird and Jacob Baird; and his great grandchildren, Julia, Piper and Gemma.
Rex was a member of the LeRoy Lutheran Church, the Gideons, the Norman Borlaug Foundation, served as Howard County Supervisor, and was a member of NE Iowa Resource Conservation and Development for several years.
