With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lydia M. Berentsen of Riceville, Iowa, who passed away on February 5, 2024 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Alex Buls and Sophia Buls (Stueber); her husband Harold Berentsen; her son-in-law Neil King; her siblings, Walter Buls (Flo), Clarence Buls (Alvina), Donald Buls (JoAnn), Hilda Averhoff (Harlan), Lillian Eiffler (Herb), Esther DeVries (Ben), Leona Buls and Loraine Atkins (George); and her in-laws, Sally Hanna (Jim) and Ralph Berentsen.
She is survived by: her children, Lucy King of Eyota, MN, Dave Berentsen (Judy) of Cedar Rapids, Al Berentsen (Dianne) of Calera, OK, Linda Blight of Riceville, Karen Anderlik (Tom) of Riceville, Kent Berentsen (Michelle) of Riceville, Julie Bell (Terry) of St. Ansgar and Danny Berentsen (Kyra) of Riceville; and her grandson Richard Grover. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren.
