He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Gansen and Geneva Gansen (Jacoby); and his siblings, John, Nick Gansen (Dolly), Mary Finley, Katherine White (Daniel) and Joe Gansen.

He is survived by: his son Tony Gansen of Greene, IA.; his wife Marge of Riceville; his children, Rebecca Dvorak, Ann Penniston (Andy) of Kansas City, MO, Tim Gansen (Kathy), Mike Gansen (Joyce), Dean Gansen (Kari), Dale Gansen (Rose) and Amy Torney (Randy) of Riceville, IA; his sisters, Norma Kolbet (Ken) and Jeannette Glaser (Brian); and his sister-in-law Eleanore Gansen. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
