He is survived by: his mother Maxine Bechtum (Perry); his wife Marlis Bechtum of Riceville; his children, Elizabeth Bechtum of Rochester, Allison Borts (Brandon) of Altoona and Ted Bechtum (Alyson) of Waukee, Iowa; his grandchildren, Nolan Borts, Adalynn Bechtum and Benjamin Bechtum; his sister Judy Bechtum of Webster, Minnesota; his mother-in-law Mildred Wilcox of Maquoketa, Iowa; his sister-in-law Sherri James (Aaron) of Maquoketa; his father-in-law Dean Wilcox; and his brother-in-law Tom Wilcox. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
