She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Kennedy and Margaret Kennedy (Lite); her husband Orville Kunkel; her brother Larry Kennedy; her grandson Christopher Kunkel; and her son-in-law Larry Sheehan.
She is survived by: her children, Chuck Kunkel (Mary) of Omaha, NE, Kevin Kunkel (Audrey) of Fremont, NE, Michelle Reinholdt (David) of Le Mars, IA, Jim Kunkel (Karen) of Elkhart, IA, Renee Sheehan of Remsen, IA, Barbara Pierson (Kal Kohler) of Le Mars, IA, David Kunkel (Jessica) of Remsen, IA, Roger Kunkel (Kristy) of Sioux City, IA, Connie Schneekloth (Kurt) of Oakland, NE and Shannan Schreiner (Bill) of Remsen, IA; her brothers, Pat Kennedy (Marlyn) of Le Mars, IA and Al Kennedy (Ramona) of Cherokee, IA; and her grandchildren, Dustin Kunkel, Jason Reinholdt, Daniel Sheehan, Neil Sheehan, Jonathan Schreiner, William Pierson, Becky Jackson, Trisha Stoeber, Jodi House, Molly Fordyce, Jennifer Krier and Allison Martin. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren.
