He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Henry Harpenau and Mildred Harpenau (Nilles); his wife Veronica Harpenau of Remsen, IA; his children, Mike Harpenau (Bev) of Remsen, IA, Linda Steven (John) of Alton, IA, Gary Harpenau (Krista) of Remsen, IA, Beth Bunkers (Curt) of Granville, IA, Barb Theisen (Bob) of Remsen, IA and Judy Traetow (David) of Sherburn, MN; his grandchildren, Jason Harpenau (Danielle), Erin Van Waus (Heath), Danny Harpenau (Sara), Ryan Steven (Kasi), Brent Steven (Liz), Jamie Baraibar, Joni Breuer (Josh), Nicole White (Jordan), Luke Bunkers (Jenna), Leah Bunkers, Brandon Theisen (Samantha), Matt Theisen, Drew Theisen (Amanda), Danielle Wilmes (Tristin), Jon Traetow (Kelsey) and Kayla Zehms (Steven); his sisters, Rosemary Schilmoeller (Denis), Carol Harpenau (Linda Leonard) and Ann Galles (Larry); his parents-in-law, Ervin Ahlers, Pauline Harpenau, Jim Gergeni, Eunice Lehner, Kathy Mueller (Marlin), Cythia Plendl, Virgil Schiefen (Linda), Francis and Christine Schiefen; his grandson Scott Baraibar; and his parents-in-law, Cloette Schroeder (Darrell), JoAnn Ahlers, Jeanette Harpenau, Richard Harpenau, Jim Harpenau (Mary Lea), Paul Harpenau, Mary Lou, Lowell Scheifen (Sharon), Verl Lehner and Ken Plendl. He was also cherished by 28 great-grandchildren.
