He was predeceased by: his parents, John Maass and Ella Maass (Seel); his son John Maass; his siblings, Loretta Nitzschke (August), Eilene Pepperd (Pat), Wilma Ritchie (Joe) and Floyd Maass (Edna); his sister-in-law Gloria Nitzschke; his parents-in-law, William and Florence Heesch; and his brother-in-law John Heesch.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Heesch of Remsen; his sons, Terry Maass (Amy) of Remsen and Mark Maass (Susan) of Columbus, NE; his daughter-in-law Lisa Maass of Ventura, CA; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Arnoult (Jacques) of Auburn, WA, Megan (Chris Wolf) of Remsen, Nicole of Des Moines, Andrew, Joshua Maass of Remsen and Noah Maass of Ventura, CA; his brother Kenneth Maass (Bethene) of Remsen; and his brother-in-law Lloyd Nitzschke of Omaha, NE. He is also survived by many nieces & nephews.
