She was predeceased by: her parents, Lillian Struwe (Block) and John Struwe; her sister Alice Lorenz; her grandson Brandon Volkens; her uncle Harry; her aunt Alma Struwe; and her cousin Claire Schlicht.
She is survived by: her husband Richard Volkens; her children, Mark Volkens (Diana) and Jane Sass (Jack); and her grandchildren, Andy Sass (Angie), Melissa Blohm (Tyler) and Kristin Macri (Mike). She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
