She was predeceased by: her parents, John Segebarth and Norma Segebarth (Meyer). She is survived by: her husband Robert L. Beard of Paul's Lutheran Church; her daughters, Cynthia Beard of Urbandale and Lori Beard of Norman, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Melissa Strawhun and Ryan Strawhun; and her sister Carol Bartels (Dean). She is also survived by 4 nieces, and 1 nephew.
She was an active volunteered at the Red Cross, Covenant Medical Center, American Cancer Society, Waterloo Senior Center, and Salvation Army.
