He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Plaehn and Emma Plaehn (Thiesen); and his wife Betty Lee Stum. He is survived by: his children, Carole Toyne (Mike), Curtis Plaehn (Cindy), Calvin Plaehn and Tom Plaehn; his grandchildren, Clarinda Plaehn-Morrow (Dean Morrow), Nathan Toyne, Mike Toyne (Tara) and Cody Plaehn; his great grandchildren, Madelyn, Lucinda, Brandon, William, Hannah and Noah; and his siblings, Bernice Craig and Leonard Plaehn.
