He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Ehrig and Emma Ehrig (Raum); his siblings, Donald Ehrig, Paul Ehrig, Dorothy Gunovich and Neva Petersen; and his stepfather Peter Byrnes.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Strohbehn; his sons, Joel (Barbara) of Grundy Center and Dave of Houston, TX; and his grandchildren, Greg, Thomas, Autumn (Isaac Beck-Brunk) and Amber (Alex Boots). He is also survived by five great granddaughters.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church (405 Broad St, Reinbeck, IA 50669). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be directed to the Grundy County Memorial Hospital, Cedar Valley Hospice, and the Reinbeck First Presbyterian church.
