He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Wade and Doris Hayes (Scalf) of Reinbeck, IA.. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Bell; his children, David Hayes Jr. (Lawanda) of Colorado Springs, CO, Matthew Hayes (Tiffany) of Abilene, TX and Susan Wipert (Keith) of Glenwood, IA; his grandchildren, Jasmine Williams (Terrance), Dedrick Lee II, David Hayes III and Danielle; his great grandchildren, Aliyah Cadwell, Aminah Cadwell and Terrance Williams Jr.; his brother Daniel Hayes; and his nephew Jed Hayes.
