With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bernice Volkens (Reinbeck, Iowa), born in Grundy Center, Iowa, who passed away on June 29, 2019 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Cullinan and Isabel Cullinan (Fisher); her sister Dolores Messenger (Donald); her parents-in-law, Grover and Emma; and her sister-in-law Lavina Rohach (Charles).
She is survived by: her husband Virgil Volkens; her children, Victoria Truby (Steve) of Des Moines, Craig (Jamie) of Leawood, KS, David of Brecksville, OH, Kent (Kelcey) of Des Moines and Kevin (Michelle) of Reinbeck; her grandchildren, Jess, Patrick, Allison, Vanessa, Kristin, Brent, Ryan, Sean, Samantha and Chad; and her brother-in-law Richard Volkens (Romagene) of Reinbeck. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
