He was predeceased by: his parents, Kirk Samples and Mary Samples (Harover); his siblings, Willard Samples (Della), Earl Samples (Marian), Elvin Samples (Ramona), Tom Samples, Effa Anderson (Merlin) and Mary Magneson (Duane); his nephews, David Samples and Kirk Thomas Samples; and his niece Dorothy Mattice (Samples).
He is survived by: his wife Deloris Samples of Red Oak, IA; his children, Mitch Samples (Tara) of Waukee, IA and Dawn Samples of Wilmington, NC; his grandchildren, Emma, Elle, Karsten and Ian of Waukee, IA; his children, Chase Samples of Red Oak, IA, Josie and Gunny Peterson of Wilmington, NC; and his sisters-in-law, Dale Samples of Washington State and Loneta Gardner (Delvin) of Osmond, NE. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and many friends.
Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church.
