With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Howard Oscar Olson (Red Oak, Iowa), born in Genoa, Nebraska, who passed away on May 13, 2020 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Olson and Evelyn Olson (Anderson); his wife Carolyn D. Mitchell; his brother Robert Olson (Marilyn); his son-in-law Lynn Ellis; and his siblings-in-law, Phyllis Olson and Charles Mitchell (Frances).

He is survived by: his children, Kim Ellis of Red Oak, IA, Mark Olson of Westminster, CA and Karla Wood (Jim) of Red Oak, IA; his grandchildren, Amy Schafer (Dan), Shayna Ellis (Travis Brincks), Bradley Wood, Zachery Wood, Ryan Olson and Tyler Olson; his great grandchildren, Brodie, Addison Schafer and Taytum Banda-Olson; and his brothers, Ralph Olson (Joanne) and Lyle Olson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be directed to Red Oak Athletic Boosters or Montgomery County Court of Honor.
