He was predeceased by: his parents, Alphons M. Kerkhoff and Frances H. Kerkhoff (Bluml); his daughter Shiela; and his siblings, Orville Kerkhoff, Meryl Kerkhoff (Imelda), David Kerkhoff and Joan Tunink (Francis).
He is survived by: his wife Carole Kerkhoff of Red Oak, Iowa; his children, Cindy Johnson (Mark) of Red Oak, Iowa, Denise Cooper (Randy) of Red Oak, Iowa, Julie Mellott (Rick) of Red Oak, Iowa, Steve Kerkhoff of San Jacinto, California, Neal Kerkhoff (Jill) of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Lisa Kliver of Omaha, Nebraska; his sister Joyce Masching of Carroll, Iowa; and his sister-in-law Dorothy Kerkhoff (Delores Kerkhoff) of Audubon. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Volunteer Fire and Rescue, the Red Oak Elks Lodge renovation project, and the Knights of Columbus.
