He is survived by: his sons, Lonnie Smith of Waldon, IA and Joe Smith (Heather) of Red Oak, IA; and his sisters, Joyce Marasco, Judy Snipes, Jolene Geske, Jeanne Stull, Jeri Goodkind and Jackie Lininger. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
