He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Meier and Alma Meier (Schaefer); and his siblings, Leota Meier, Eldo Meier, Alvin Meier, Helen Tietje and Eugene Meier.
He is survived by: his wife Delores Harms of Readlyn; his children, Judy Leistikow (LaVerne) of Readlyn, Sherwin Meier (Jeni), Dawn Koehler (David) of Cedar Falls and Todd Meier of Des Moines; his sisters, Luella Harms of Tripoli and Mildred Dankenbring of Cedar Falls; and his sister-in-law Dorothy Meier. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren.
